Smokey Timbers Camp is an environmental education facility that offers school, family, and youth groups a place to learn about the lake and woodland environments, while creating friendships and memories that will last a lifetime! The 21.3 acre rustic camp is heavily wooded, containing many nature trails and approximately 550 feet of natural lake shore on one of Minnesota's most pristine lakes - Lake Miltona.

 

Smokey Timbers is a 501C3 - nonprofit organization.

The Lake

 

Smokey Timbers features 550' of pristine lakeshore on Lake Miltona with a swimming area, dock, and sandy lake bottom. Lake Miltona has excellent fishing and is one of few muskie lakes in the area.

The CAMPSITES

Smokey Timbers sites include water, picnic tables, and a fire pit. There are four sites that also include a shelter. All sites are nestled within the majestic woods of west central Minnesota.

 

 

 

 

 

Dock and Boat House

A dock is available for boating, swimming, and fishing activities. A boat house is also available which houses three kayaks, three canoes, four paddle-boats, and life jackets for use. Two aluminum boats are also available.

 

 

 

Screened Shelter

This screened area has seating for enjoying the wilderness without the bugs. There is a large stone fireplace for cooking or enjoying the warmth on a cooler evening. This screened shelter is connected via a large deck to the kitchen. It is ideal for groups or family gatherings to enjoy the outdoors and have everything located close at hand.

 

 

 

Kitchen

Number of Facilities: 1

This is located near the screen house. The facility contains: a sink, hot and cold running water for food preparation, refrigerator, pots, pans, stove, and a walk-in cooler. There are tables available for food preparation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bunkhouse/Cabin

Number of Facilities: 1

 

This site has an 8-10 person capacity. It includes bunk beds and a refrigerator. There is no running water within the bunkhouse, but water is close by. A deck overlooks Lake Miltona. This is a nice unit to rent for a small gathering or retreat. 

 

 

 

 

 

Storm Shelter
Number of Facilities: 1


Underneath the screened in porch is a storm shelter that can be used in the event of adverse weather conditions.It is easily accessible and of concrete block construction.

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

Indoor Showers
Number of Facilities: 1

 

Shower facilities are located in this recently reconstructed facility. There are four individual shower stalls including one handicap stall.

SWIMMING/FISHING

NATURE HIKES

A one kilometer nature trail runs through the camp, wandering through the woods, past several identified fawn and flora.
